The disinfectable Medical Keyboard AK-C8112 in full layout is highly versatile in hygiene-sensitive areas and lives up to the high demands of frequent users in hospitals and medical practices. The waterproof silicone cover with an especially flat key profile can be sprayed, wiped, or even immersed in hospital-approved surface disinfectant. The ultra-flat key profile prevents microbial growth on contaminants and disinfectant residues in gaps. Depending on the hygienic requirements, the AK-C8112 is available with either a removable silicone cover that can be autoclaved for sterilization or a permanently installed membrane with an IP68 rating. The CleanFunction feature disables key input for cleaning, so you don't need to disconnect the keyboard. The AK-C8112 further features easy key orientation, light keystroke, and smooth tactile feedback. Paired with the optimized ergonomic design that prevents wrist strain, typing on the AK-C8112 is a silent, efficient and, overall, very comfortable experience. With the standard layout of 104 or 105 keys, the AK-C8112 combines all the advantages of a hygiene keyboard with the incomparable typing feel of a premium office keyboard.
Disinfectable medical keyboard with full layout and flat key profile
Like all Active Key hygiene keyboards of the “-12”-range (suffix -12, e.g. AK-C7412, AK-C4012), the AK-C8112 hygiene keyboard has a particularly flat key profile. This has been proven to remove more bacteria and germs during cleaning. Together with the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden, we carried out a phosphor gel emulation test with the AK-C8100 and AK-C7412 hygiene keyboards. This has clearly shown that the keyboard with the flat key profile (AK-C7412) leaves significantly less to no cleaning residue in the spaces between the keys after wipe disinfection than the keyboard with the higher profile (AK-C8100).

Where there is a lot of typing, the best ergonomics are essential to maintain the well-being of healthcare professionals. The special design of the AK-C8112 hygienic keyboard reduces excessive strain on the wrists. For fatigue-free and comfortable working, even over long periods of time.

Thanks to its particularly flat key profile, the AK-C8112 hygienic keyboard is not only thoroughly cleaned in no time at all, but also offers the same typing comfort as an office keyboard with its full layout and light keystroke. Durable and robust
In the medical field, keyboards and mice are so-called "high-touch work equipment" and, therefore, must be sanitized frequently in order to minimize the spread of infections. The AK-C8112 Medical Keyboard can be cleaned with all common cleaning agents approved for medical disinfection and is characterized by particularly abrasion-resistant keyboard lettering.
